Indonesia featuring the Komodo National Park (KNP) formally withdrew from the finalists of the seven wonders of the world's natural selection or the New Seven Wonders of Nature (N7WN). The reason, the Foundation Seven Wonder (N7W Foundation) has committed unprofessional, inconsistent, not transparent, and not credible as an organizer.
"We should not be dazzled by the contest organized by foreigners, because their motivation was commercial. No we deserved to come," said Minister of Culture and Tourism Jero Wacik at a press conference at the House of Soesilo Soedarman, Monday (15 / 8).
It was attended, among others, Director General of Tourism Marketing Dr. Sapta Nirwandar Kemenbudpar, Director General of Forest Protection and Nature Conservation Kemenhut Ir Darori MM, attorney Kemenbudpar Todung Mulya Lubis, Hermawan Kartajaya marketing expert, founder of MURI Suprana Jaya, Komodo Zeby Febriana activists, representatives of relevant ministries Maldives government and representatives of Mr Simon Hawkins who first has been declared officially resigned from the campaign in May 2011.
According to the Culture and Tourism Jero Wacik, although it withdrew from the election campaign-the new seven natural wonders (N7WN) version of the New 7 Wonders Foundation, but the KNP since 1991 had the status of World Heritage whose existence has been recognized by the world community through a credible institution of UNESCO official. As is known, beginning in August of 2008 Kemenbudpar willing to be the Official Supporting Committee (OSC) / Lead Agency that TNK could be elected one of the 7 natural wonders-new (N7WN) whose election conducted through online voting, Kembudpar has conducted a series of campaign activities online and offline, both inside and outside the country to promote and support the KNP and have produced results on July 21, 2009, when TNK was selected as one of 28 finalists N7WN campaign after setting aside approximately 440 nominations from 220 countries.
N7W Foundation in early December 2010 stating approve Indonesia (Jakarta) as the host of the (official host) Declaration of the World 7 Wonders of Nature (New7Wonders of Nature).
The trust requires the Government of Indonesia to pay a license feese as host of the declaration of 10 Million U.S. Dollars and prepare 35 million U.S. Dollars from various private parties for the cost of organizing the event declaration.
In fact the only new Kembudpar expressed interest to host, but have not signed any agreement or to register an official bidding proposal as required by the foundation N7W in the Official New7Wonders of documents Tender Bidding Host Worldwide. The request was later rejected by Kembudpar, as judged unrealistic.
